We are saying goodbye to our original formula of SunButter Sunblock to make way for our 50SPF formula.
This is a big day for us, this formula is what SunButter was built on! We have been hand making it for two years for a loving fan base who adore, support and promote this natural sunblock. It was proof to us that we can make our own suncare and it doesn't need added chemicals. We SPF tested it to know it rated at 25+SPF, but couldn't make any claims because we hand made the product. This obviously set us back, as many people still wanted the security of seeing a marked SPF.
So the last 2 years we have spent working with chemists to create the ultimate formula in sunscreen that is high performing, 50SPF, 4 hours water resistant and natural. We're so excited to be releasing this product July 1st, pre-orders are now available with an early bird discount for those who get in first! We haven't dropped the bar on any level, from packaging to production to sourcing sustainable ingredients, certified Vegan, Palm Oil free and Plastic Free. It's been a long journey with lots of hurdles, but we've jumped every single one of them.
Our new 50SPF natural sunscreen stands on the shoulders of our original sunblock formula. It is improved and refined and now being manufactured at a larger scale so we can bring SunButter to the nation! This is why we are saying goodbye to the original handmade formula. Nevertheless, we are planning to keep the base of this awesome sunblock going, with an after sun balm. The ingredients we used in this formula are so incredibly healing for weathered, dry and cracked skin, that we feel the base of Original SunButter must continue!

When it comes to sustainability practices, upcycling and DIY are king! SunButter has always loved upcycling — especially around Christmas time when things tend to get stressful, wasteful and expensive — and this year it’s even more important than it was before. Let us guide you through our favourite ways to upcycle our tins.
