Brinkley's love of the ocean has evolved over the years from enthusiastic grommet to competitive surfer to marine biologist. She’s thrown herself into volunteering, diving and earning boating qualifications, among other impressive pursuits. Today, Brinkley also creates content to help energise ocean and wildlife conservation efforts and travels the world representing these causes on a global scale. Her environmental non-profit Balu Blue Foundation, which she founded in 2016, assists with native animal rescue and takes action for the Great Southern Reef of Australia, raising awareness for this unique eco system, and all it supports.
